12 Days of Christmas - Day 12

Day 12 and I made it!
I set out from the start to make a card for each and every one of the 12 challenges in Catch the Bug´s 12 Days of Christmas challenge, and in the middle of work, family and Christmas preparations I wasn't sure I was going to make it. But thanks to really inspiring challenges I really didn't have a choice to not complete this challenge. So thank you Catch the Bug for two really fun weeks of cardmaking. Through-out the challenges I've been trying to display different types of cards and techniques. I really love the Bugaboo stamps and I hope you will seriously consider me for the spot as a guest designer.

So here is my last card. The theme for day 12 is "use a Christmas song as inspiration". I had the song "All I want for Christmas" (atleast I think it's called that, often sung by Mariah Carey) in my head while making this card. I'm thinking the postcard is the little girls letter to Santa telling him what she wants for Christmas.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 11

Day 11 - almost there, yay!
"Use plaid" is the theme for Day 11 over at Catch the Bug. After some sorting through my paperstash I realized that I actually had more plaid petternd papers than I first thought. For all the other 11 challenges I have made cards that I intend to give away to friends and family. These 12 days have been full of intense crafting and I've actually made this card for myself to keep as a memory of this time. And what better to wish a crafter like me, than a "Merry Craft-mas".

12 Days of Christmas - Day 8

"On the eighth day of Christmas my true love gave to me eight maids-a-milking." Over at Catch the Bug this translates to a challeng with the theme "Milk and Cookies". I have used this Holy Cow image and cut it out as a circle to represents the shape of a cookie. For this card I used my sewing-machine to add stitches around the edges.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 7

My cards for the Catch the Bug´s 12 days of Christmas keep on coming. For the 7:th day the task is to create a card with the image below as inspiration.

I chose to pick the colours, the branches and ribbons from the inspiration picture and this is the result:

12 Days of Christmas - Day 6

Day 6 and the theme is "use humor" in Catch the Bug´s 12 Days of Christmas Challenge. I think this frog from Bugaboo is quite humoristic by itself and here I combined it with bright coloured papers to give the feeling of a day at the beach.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 3

On the third day of Christmas ... la la la la la la... Catch the Bug gave to me a challenge with the theme "use an animal". So many cute Bugaboo animal-images to choose from, but I ended up using this bee once again (see my entry for Day 5). This time I went for a clean and simple look. Papers in bright colours, a flower and short word. "Grattis" is Swedish for congratulations.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 9

Time to show my card for Day 9 of Catch the Bug's 12 days of Christmas. The task is to make a feminine card. I've had this piece of purple wellpapp (that's what we call it in swedish, maybe someone can leave a comment whit the correct english name for the "wavy" cardboard.) for a long time, and now I challenged myself to use it. So, feminine and wellpapp was my keywords when making this card. This digi-stamp is so useful for birthday cards, and with different coloring it feesl like a new image every time I use it.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 10

The challenge of the 10th day of Catch the Bug's 12 days of Christmas is to make a maskuline card. Below you can see my version of this theme. I really like using purple and depending on the shade I think it works great for both masculin and feminine cards (see the feminine card in my next entry). Or like in this case, a card for a soon-to-be two year old nephew.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 2

Time to show my entry to Catch the Bug's 12 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 2. For this challenge the theme is love. I've made this cute pink creation with one of Bugaboo's dinosaurs. I had my 2 -year-old daughter and Valentines Day in mind when I did this card. I'm pretty sure she will love it.

A close up of the dinosaur - the little heart makes this image perfect for a card like this, without over- doing it.

12 days of christmas - Day 1

The first challenge in Catch the bug's 12 days of Christmas is "use a tree on your card" and here is my take on this theme.

Cup-cake or tree? Maybe it is both, but this image from Bugaboo is the sweetest tree-image for a christmas card. The little light-bulbs have some glossy accent on them and I cut a star with my spellbinders and stamped 24 on it to complement the stars in the tree.

12 days of Christmas - Day 5

This is my second entry to the Catch the Bug challenge - 12 days of Christmas. The theme is "use gold".

The more I though about this challenge, the more diffucult it seemed to me. Searching my stuff I couldn't find anything golden, but among the kid's craft-stuff I found some golden glitterglue which led me to this cute bee image from Bugaboo. I've highlighted most of the yellow parts of the bee with the glitterglue and in my local craftstore I found this gold-ribbon that completed the look of this card.

12 days of christmas - Day 4

Ok, here we go.
This will be my first of many posts this week, since I've taken on the challenge to enter every single one of Catch the Bug's 12 days of christmas challenge. Read all about the different challenges HERE.

The first card that I've finished is for the challenge of day 4, "use a bird on your creation". I just love this little penguin that was a freebie a few weeks back so my choice of motive was quite easy. This year I've been trying to do christmas cards in more non-traditional colours, like yellow and turquoise which is the case here. The sentence "God Jul" means Merry Christmas in Swedish.

Tre gubbar...
